About VU Sound Studio
V.U. Sound Studio, as a commercial entity, has been in operation since 2000. Owner /Engineer Jim Robb has worked in and around music and recording for more than forty years. He has worked as a studio musician as well as a percussionist and drummer for numerous music groups and club bands, often setting up and recording the group’s demo and promotional recordings.

Jim initially established what is now V.U. Sound Studio as a personal project studio to re-mix and re-master to CD, his collection of “recorded live” tapes from his days as a working musician.

Studio Tour After doing some audio restoration work for a friend, word began to get around and Jim found himself accepting more and more outside work. Everything from transcribing taped recordings of family ancestry conversations to forensic enhancement of surveillance recordings to audio restoration and transfer of old vinyl LP records to CD. Along the way, equipment and software went through several expansions and upgrades and the present V.U. Sound Studio was born. Pretty quickly, Jim (a long time fan of amateur figure skating) realized that his studio facilities, his digital audio editing and processing procedures and skills, coupled with his years of musical experience and early training in dance made an ideal combination for producing custom mixed music tracks for competition figure skating. As V.U. Sound Studio’s name and reputation as a producer of quality figure skating music gained recognition, opportunities for producing other sports related music presented themselves including Figure Roller Skating, Gymnastics, and Dressage to name a few.

While Jim is determined to retain the small business ethics of personal service and quality products, the studio’s audio restoration services and Sports Music production is now serving clients across the entire United States as well as Canada, Mexico and England.
